Bringing Visitors to the ALS

The ALS building (Building 6) is a Controlled Access Area for radiation protection. All ALS users are required to take safety training provided at the ALS User Services Office before using the ALS facility (see Required Safety Training). All visitors to Building 6 must be accompanied by an escort who has completed this training and read "Access to the ALS (Bldg. 6)," procedure HP 02-01, Rev. 4 (available from the ALS Procedure Manager, Rita Jones, and from the ALS User Services Office). The escort is directly responsible for the safety of the visitor and must accompany him or her at all times while inside the ALS.

Visitors must register in the "ALS Guest Book" (in the ALS Building 6 lobby or in Building 80 by the door to Building 6).

Users must arrange for gate access for visitors (see Gate Access). Parking may be reserved for visitors at the ALS by sending email to alsparking@lbl.gov or by contacting the ALS User Office (see below).
