Pre-arrival information

VISA:

Citizens of Chile, Panama, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Myanmar, Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom (N/A to British National Overseas passport) do not need a visa for a short visit (<15 days in all cases). You will need a valid passport for at least 6 months following your date of arrival in Vietnam, with at least 02 blank pages.

Participants from other countries or for longer stay should apply for a TOURIST VISA either at your nearest Vietnamese consulate or through the Internet (you will have to retrieve it on your arrival) at websites: Visa on Arrival – https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en_US/ This internet visa procedure is the simplest and the cheapest, but it will take you some time on arrival in Vietnam at the airport immigration office (up to ~ 60 min waiting, depending on your position in the queue). Do not forget to bring with you 2 passport photos and the required amount of USD currencies (exclusively) in cash.

Covid-19 entry restrictions:

  • Starting from 0:00 on May 15, all Vietnam destinations are open, no border restriction, no self-isolation and no SARS-CoV-2 testing is required.

Accommondation:

  • La Thanh Hotel where the symposium venue is located is recommended. The average room rate is about 50 USD/night.

  • Since La Thanh Hotel has a large number of rooms, you may easily reserve a room directly by sending an email to nklathanh@gmail.com or nguyenlinhchi43@gmail.com. Please indicate the intented length of stay, your preferred room types and number of guests. The room options are available here (Note: Please do not use the reservation feature in that website since it is deprecated. Please send an email to the aforementioned email addresses).

Transportation:

Hanoi can be reached by air, train or bus/car.

If you arrive in Noi-Bai airport you can go to the city by the following ways:

  • In an easiest way, you can take a taxi at a rate of about 250,000-350,000 VNĐ (about 11-15 USD) to go to any point in the city (by chance you may get a cheaper taxi) or
  • If you have no bulky luggage, you can take a city bus. It is recommended to take the city bus No. 90 (rate: 9,000 VND or about 4 cent), which will take you to a bus station near the conference site. For urban transportation, visit https://www.grab.com/vn/en/ to download an Uber-like application, which is commonly used in Vietnam. By using this App, you can easily move to any point in the city to explore “Top-Rated Attractive Places in Hanoi”.
