Instructions to use Linux programs on Windows:
If you want to run X-Window programs of Linux on Windows.
You should have X-Win software
and SSH-client software
in order to connect from Windows to Linux servers.
Down load: X-Win and SSH-Client
After installing X-Win software and SSH-Client. You can
connect to an unix/linux computer inside or outside LAN from IOPE following steps below:
Connection inside LAN:
- Open X-Win.
- Run SSH-Client program -> there will be an window of SSH program.
- Choose Profile -> AddProfile -> Type any name to connect.
- After put name -> choose Edit Profile -> there will be an window having usenames on the left username (bạn chọn
-> choose the name was called in step 3 and update parameters on
the right side:
- In Hostname you type: 1.0.0.20
- In Username you type : username.
- In Port name : Default is 22
Others are default (you should not change).
- Once you want to connect -> Open Profile -> username
-> Type password.
- After typing the password, you can run any programs of Linux at shell command window
(Exp: Gnuplot, Mathematica, Fortran, Latex ...).
Connection to outside of LAN:
- Run program SSH-Client. there will be an window of SSH program..
- Open Profile -> AddProfile-> Type any name to connect.
- After put name -> choose Edit Profile -> there will be an window having usenames on the left username (bạn chọn
-> choose the name was called in step 2 and update parameters on
the right side:
- In Hostname you type: 1.0.0.1
- In Username you type: guest.
- In Port name: Default is 22
Others are default (you should not change).
- Once you want to connect -> Open Profile -> username
-> Type password (password is guest).
- After typing the password, you can connect to an outside computer at shell command window:
- ssh -l userid hostname (Exp: ssh -l anhky thwgs.cern.ch)
or
- telnet hostname (Exp: telnet thwgs.cern.ch)
Now you can access and work as you want.
