XVII Vietnam School of Physics (VSOP)

GENERAL INFORMATION


The 17th Vietnam School of Physics (VSOP) "Particle and astroparticle physics at the dawn of the LHC era" will be organized in Hue from 18 – 24 July 2011 by Rencontres du Vietnam (RdV) and Institute of Physics (IOP), Hanoi, in cooperation with Institute National de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules (IN2P3), CNRS, France, and Hue University (College of Education), Hue.


The 17th VSOP is also funded by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy, and the Asia-Pacific Centre for Theoretical Physics (APCTP), Pohang, Korea, as an external activity.


This school belongs to a series of schools started by RdV in 1994. As previously, the school is planning to accept about 35 – 40 participants expected to come principally from research institutes and universities in the Asia-Pacific region. Some financial support for participants (with a priority given to junior people) who are from developing countries of the Asia-Pacific region, and who will attend the entire scientific program, may be available.

The 17th VSOP organization is in coordination with that of the 2011 BCVSPIN “Advanced Study Institute in Particle Physics and Cosmology” which will be held in the same place from 25 – 30 July 2011. The two schools share a common registration form and the deadline for registration for both schools is 04 April 2011 (Monday).
