In this paper, by using the Hartree-Fock method, we investigate the binding energy of trions in two-dimensional quantum dots with a parabolic confinement potential in dependence on the effective masses of electrons and holes. We obtained interesting results showing that there are bound-to-unbound or unbound-to-bound transitions of trions that depend on the effective mass ratio between electrons and holes.
