the 8th International Conference on Applied Physics and Engineering (CAEP-8)

Held from October 12 to 15, 2023, at the Vietnamese-German University in Bến Cát Town, Bình Dương Province, the 8th International Conference on Applied Physics and Engineering (CAEP-8) was successfully organized, featuring a wide range of content on recent achievements in the development of applied physics technology and engineering.

CAEP-8 was organized through the collaboration of the International Center for Physics, the Institute of Physics, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST); the Vietnamese-German University; and several domestic and international research institutions.

CAEP is held biennially with the goal of creating a forum for presenting and exchanging the latest national and international achievements in research, technological development, and applied physics engineering, as well as in the applications of physics. The conference also aims to strengthen scientific and technological exchange and cooperation both domestically and internationally—among regions, between research and training institutions, and among researchers, technologists, manufacturers, and those involved in physics applications.

This year’s CAEP-8 attracted nearly 250 participants from 11 countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, France, and others. According to the Organizing Committee, the conference featured a total of 109 presentations, including 59 oral presentations (divided into two panels: Engineering Physics and Applied Physics) and 50 poster presentations, delivered in parallel sessions.

Scientists from both Vietnam and abroad gathered to discuss and share research findings in a variety of fields, including: lighting technology, plasma physics and applications, optics and photonics applications, measurements and applications in science, applied nuclear physics and nuclear engineering, materials, photonic and optical devices, materials and technologies for sustainable development, remote sensing and its applications in atmospheric physics and astronomy. The conference also provided an opportunity for graduate students in Engineering Physics to gain exposure to and understanding of these fields. The latest research, as well as newly emerging issues attracting the attention of the international scientific community, were also introduced during the event.
