About ICP
Functions and Tasks
The International Centre of Physics was established with the following main functions:
(1) Train and improve professional qualifications in physics for Vietnamese citizens and citizens of ASEAN countries as well as neighboring regions and Africa;
(2) Contribute to the development of high-level teaching, research, and application teams in physics;
(3) Promote cooperation in physics training and research at regional and international levels;
(4) Coordinate with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) to develop training programs and organize internships and scholarships at the international level;
(5) Organize research internships and advanced physics training, contributing to the training of young physicists and professional physicists;
(6) Cooperate with the International Basic Sciences Programme (IBSP) of UNESCO, the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), and other relevant organizations to organize scientific events to disseminate physics knowledge, including suitable classes, conferences, schools, and seminars aligned with UNESCO programs;
(7) Promote physics research and application cooperation with universities, research institutes, and international organizations, especially in ASEAN countries, the Asia-Pacific region, and Africa, where physics has not been fully developed;
(8) Ensure the high quality of Vietnam's physics, aiming to build the Center into a regional physics center in Southeast Asia;
(9) Participate in providing professional advice, education, and outreach activities in physics in the region and internationally.
