Scientific Conference Marks 50th Anniversary of VAST with Focus on Fundamental Research in Mathematics and Physics
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), the Subcommittee for Fundamental Research in Mathematics and Physics was entrusted with organizing a Scientific Conference on Fundamental Research in Mathematics and Physics. The event took place on March 7, 2025, at the Nguyen Van Hieu Hall, Institute of Physics, 10 Dao Tan Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.
The conference served as a forum to present recent scientific interests and advancements from four major research institutes under VAST: the Institute of Mathematics, the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Mechanics, and the Institute of Mechanics and Applied Informatics.
The event began with an overview of the development journey of the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Mathematics during the period 2020–2025. Following this, a series of scientific presentations were delivered by distinguished guests and researchers. Notable presentations included: a talk on Algebraic Invariants of Geometric Objects by Professor Dr. Phung Ho Hai from the Institute of Mathematics or a report on Vietnam’s Nuclear Physics Research at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), Dubna by Professor Dr. Le Hong Khiem from the Institute of Physics.
This conference was one of the events in the celebratory series marking 50 years of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, underscoring the Academy’s long-standing commitment to advancing fundamental research in Vietnam.
