AbstractI will discuss some models where SM fermion mass pattern is sequentially loop-generated, as well as models where the pattern of SM fermion masses arises from the spontaneous breaking of discrete symmetries as well as for a combination of a Universal seesaw mechanism and spontaneous discrete symmetry breaking. Some phenomenological aspects of these models will be discussed.
