Directions via the SF Municipal Railway (MUNI):

Take an ``N Judah'' street car outbound from downtown and get off at the UCSF Medical Center stop. This stop is between Arguello Blvd. and Second Ave. on Irving St. From downtown San Francisco it takes approximately 1/2hr. The downtown portion of MUNI is completely underground, then you ride above ground for a few blocks, through a tunnel for a few more blocks, and finally its another 4 or 5 blocks to UCSF. Usually the driver announces the UCSF Medical Center stop over the public address system, but sometimes the speaker volume is so low you can't hear the it. If you're not sure, just ask someone.

Once you get off MUNI, proceed inside the nearest UCSF marked building and find an elevator. UCSF is built on a steep hillside in a residental neighborhood, and you'll need to take an elevator to the top level (labeled ``I'' or ``J'', depending on which bank of elevators you're on). Exit the elevator make your way outside to a street called Parnassus Ave. (this may involve climbing a flight of stairs depending on which elevator you rode up on). Cross Parnassus Ave. and find the building marked ``Medical Sciences Building'' (see campus map). The address is 513 Parnassus Ave. Now follow the directions entitled ``Once you're on campus...''
