Here's how to reach UCSF by car if you are coming from the South Bay via Highway 280...
Follow Highway 280 north towards San Francisco and get off at the ``Highway 1 North'' exit. This will lead you to a major city artery called 19th Avenue. Follow 19th Ave. for a few miles to Judah Street. (The streets run alphabetically, so you can count down to "J".) Judah is a couple of blocks BEFORE Golden Gate Park, so if you wind up in the park you've gone too far. Turn right on Judah and proceed about 1 mile. Just before you get to the UCSF campus, the name of the street changes from Judah St. to Parnassus Ave. A couple of blocks farther on there will be several multistory buildings on both sides of the street. This is UCSF. Just past the glass-enclosed clock tower on the left is an undergound parking garage that usually has space available. Park and then take an elevator up to the top level (labeled ``I'' or ``J'', depending on which bank of elevators you're on). Exit the elevator and cross Parnassus Avenue. Now follow the directions entitled ``Once you're on campus...''
