Presubmission enquiries about the suitability of manuscripts for Nature Genetics should be sent via our electronic submission website (www.nature.com/naturegenetics/esubmission). As a matter of policy, Nature Genetics editors cannot make an absolute commitment to have a contribution refereed before seeing the entire paper. Researchers submitting an enquiry will be asked to supply address and contact details; title; brief paragraph stating the interest to a broad scientific readership; a fully referenced summary paragraph in Nature Genetics format and a list of the references cited in the summary paragraph. Authors are also encouraged to supply a one or two sentence description of each figure and table to be included in the manuscript. Authors will usually receive an answer within three working days. Editors cannot enter into discussion about a negative response to a presubmission enquiry, but authors who have received such a response may nevertheless formally submit the paper if they wish.
