ProgrammeP.94 -- Posters, VCTP-51 Date: Thursday, 6 August 2026> Time: 09:30 - 10:30> Investigation of phase transitions in hot $^{166-170}$Er nucleiLe Thi Quynh Huong (1) , Nguyen Quang Hung (2) (1) University of Khanh Hoa, Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam (2) Institute of Research and Development, Duy Tan University, K7/25 Quang Trung, Da Nang, Vietnam The phase transitions in hot $^{166-170}$Er nuclei are investigated within the canonical ensemble framework using the Distribution of Zeros (DOZ) approach. The partition functions are constructed from experimental nuclear level densities at low excitation energies combined with the Back-Shifted Fermi Gas (BSFG) model at high excitation energies. The distribution of complex-temperature zeros is analyzed to identify and classify phase transitions occurring in these finite nuclear systems. Two major phase transitions are observed. The first corresponds to the breaking of nucleon Cooper pairs at temperatures around T_c ≈ 0.5–0.7 MeV, while the second is associated with a shape transition from a deformed to a nearly spherical configuration at T_c ≈ 2.0–2.6 MeV. The results are compared with previous studies of neighboring rare-earth nuclei and provide further insight into the thermodynamic behavior of finite nuclear system [1].
