To incorporate Coulomb interaction effects in a two-dimensional interacting electron gas, transport through the quantum point contact (QPC) is described within a Luttinger liquid (LL) framework characterized by the Luttinger parameter g. We show that the temperature dependence of the current noises deviates markedly from Fermi liquid predictions. In particular, the interplay between mesoscopic Coulomb blockade in the quantum dot and weak repulsive interactions in the LL leads to enhanced current fluctuations. We attribute this enhance- ment to the suppression of Kondo correlations by destructive quantum interference effects at the QPC, providing clear signatures of electron-electron interactions in the LL.
