ProgrammeP.49 -- Posters, VCTP-51 Date: Thursday, 6 August 2026> Time: 09:30 - 10:30> Significant variations of resonance energy transfer at magic anglesNguyen Dung Chinh Department of Scientific Fundamentals, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Using the Green-tensor formalism, we investigate the rate of resonance energy transfer (RET) between two two-level atoms or molecules, within the dipole approximation, in the presence of dispersing and absorbing macroscopic bodies. The RET rate in the near-field zone is analyzed as a function of the dipole orientation. Two types of waveguides are considered, including infinitely extended cylinders made of gold or intrinsic silicon. The contribution of surface plasmons is examined through the spontaneous emission (SE) rate of an excited atom. We show that, even in systems where surface plasmons do not exist, a remarkable enhancement of RET can still occur. We then discuss, both analytically and numerically, how magic angles emerge, why they strongly affect RET in the near field, and under what conditions their effect disappears. RET in the near-field regime in vacuum has been shown to follow an inverse-square distance dependence, which is associated with the contribution of the transverse component of the electromagnetic field.
