Optical properties of one dimensional metal-dielectric photonic crystals

Using invariant imbedding method developed recently, we study the optical properties of 1D metal-dielectric photonic crystals (1D-MDPC) made by silver (Ag) and titanium dioxide (TiO_2) alternatively. We find that at some range of frequencies a large transmittance through 1D-MDPC it achives about 85%, we also find that the transmittance increases when the number of periodic increase while total thickness of metal is around 70nm. Finally we study the transmittance depending on polarization and incident angle of electromagnetic wave.
