The results show that the two electron correlated momentum distribution is significantly contaminated by the multiple recollision events for sufficiently short laser wavelength. The effect of multiple recollision decreases as the laser wavelength grows. The mechanisms governing the nonsequential double ionization process are also thoroughly studied.
