In this paper, we study the optical Stark effect of excitons in InGaAs/InAlAs prolate ellipsoidal quantum dots using the renormalization wavefunction formulation. Our results show that the absorption spectrum appears two absorption peaks of excitons when there is a strong laser coupling of two-electron quantized levels. This provides clear evidence of the existence of the three-level optical Stark effect in this quantum structure. Besides, the dependence of the exciton absorption spectrum on the pump laser detuning, photon energy, size, and geometry of quantum dots were also investigated and explained in detail.
