Spin excitations in the Kitaev-Heisenberg model on the square lattice

We study a Kitaev-Heisenberg model of spin ½ on a square lattice. We derive the elementary magnetic excitation spectrum employing a functional integral method within one-loop approximation with exact on- site constraint. The result is discussed in relation to the data obtained by the equation of motion method and with the result of the linear spin wave theory in Holstein-Primakoff representation.
