MDL® Report Manager (Formerly ISIS Report Manager and Assay Explorer Report Manager)

MDL Report Manager is an easy-to-configure reporting tool that uses MDL® ISIS chemical structure searching and live structure reporting to integrate and extract data from multiple databases into preformatted reports.

Three important steps to creating Research Reports:

STEP 1: User-friendly database integration
A user-friendly interface enables administrators to integrate multiple database sources for easy and detailed report template creation.

STEP 3: Instant detailed formatted reports
Object oriented form design means detailed formatted report templates can be designed to create PDF, HTML, Microsoft ® Word, Microsoft® Excel, RTF, Microsoft® Access, XML, and txt reports.

The information you need, quickly

MDL Report Manager enables chemists and biologists to rapidly analyze, report, and share information with colleagues for faster decision-making. Using Report Templates, users can access multiple and disparate MDL ISIS or Oracle databases such as MDL® Assay Explorer's biological database through one interface, quickly extracting pertinent information into preformatted reports with powerful MDL ISIS queries such as tautomer, isomer, 3D, and substructure searches.

Easy, consistent, and customizable reports

The MDL Report Manager intuitive interface helps you rapidly generate reports using preformatted templates (i.e., Excel, Word, PDF, HTML, XML, TXT, Access, RTF). Powerful visualization and reporting tools let you create graphs on the fly, display live 2D and 3D chemical structures, present topographical data and add images stored in Oracle databases such as spectra or pathology samples, or summarize complex data in easy-to-manage tables.

Quickly compile and run reports

Users can build detailed report templates containing multiple sections populated from different data sources. MDL Report Manager can normalize data drawn from disparate sources for consistency. A Report Task Scheduling feature helps you ensure timely, automated reporting.

Share data in minutes

From creating structure-activity report (SAR) tables, pivot tables, and progress reports to automatically collating experimental results on a regular basis, MDL Report Manager can help make all of an organization's scientific data readily accessible and communicable. With a double-click of a Report Template, reports can be generated and uploaded to a file server or intranet site within minutes.

MDL Report Manager features:

  • Disparate data reporting
MDL Report Manager provides one interface for capturing data from multiple databases via a variety of reporting formats and customizable templates. Reports can include chemical registration, inventory, and analysis data; information from MDL content databases; and results from multiple experiments, including primary screens, secondary screens, in vivo testing, and ADME studies.
  • Multi-sectioned reports
A single report can contain multiple sections populated from different data sources, e.g. experiment results and compound library data.
  • Reporting wizards
Templates with query pop-up menus enable users to specify additional filter information to search for, such as experiment names, sample IDs, chemical substructures, and dates.
  • Integration with ISIS technology
The ability to link to ISIS chemical databases and use ISIS search types (such as tautomer, reaction, and substructure) makes it easy to integrate chemical data and structures without cutting and pasting between applications (or manually searching from multiple interfaces).
  • Live chemical structures
MDL Report Manager enables users to view chemical structures, including 3D structures, in reports as images or as live structures rendered by MDL® Chime Pro.
  • Flexible query tools
Customizable drop-down menus and tools enable users to easily build complex queries and retrieve data for analysis and decision-making.
  • Reporting templates and formats
Report templates can be produced in a broad range of formats, including PDF, HTML, XML, TXT, RTF, Access, Excel, and Word.
  • Dynamically generated graphics
A range of graphing features from 3D scattergrams to pie charts enables users to dynamically create graphs on the fly from raw data saved in the database.
  • Image reporting
The ability to display Oracle BLOB images, including BMP, JPEG, and WMF files, enables users to add images stored in Oracle databases (e.g. spectra or pathology samples) to reports.
  • Task scheduling
With the Windows Task Scheduler, users can define times for report templates to run, automatically creating dynamic reports on progress, inventory, or status.
  • Oracle ADO database and ISIS Server connection
Using common Oracle and ISIS database connectivity, users can connect to a range of databases and database types.
