Users' Executive Committee Election
It's election season for the ALS Users' Executive Committee. This year, the ALS user community will be electing three new members to replace outgoing members Harald Ade, Roger Falcone, and Carolyn Larabell. The list of nominees will be posted at the UEC Election Web site, and voting is scheduled to take place online between October 17 and November 15. You must have a current email address on file with the ALS User Services Office by October 16 in order to vote.
2002 ALS Users' Meeting a Success
The ALS Users' Meeting welcomed more than 350 participants October 10-12 at Berkeley Lab. This year's meeting featured a keynote address by Professor Steve Leone of the University of California and newly appointed director of the ALS Chemical Dynamics Group. Meeting sessions were devoted to facility updates, highlights from young researchers, and ALS recent research highlights. A student poster competition, a poster session, and six focused workshops rounded out this year's program.
