In this work, based on the Ginzburg-Landau phenomenological formalism we consider a new simple model to describe the heating properties of protein-coated metallic nano-particles. Using this proposed model, the temperature dependence of the maximum extinction as a function of temperature for BSA-coated gold nano-spheres was calculated.
