Foreword

          The "International Symposium on Advanced Magnetic Materials", organised by the Vietnam Physical Society, the National Centre for Natural Science and Technology (NCST) and the Vietnam National University (VNU) Hanoi, aims at providing a forum for Vietnamese scientists and their overseas collaborators to discuss results of their fruitful research cooperation and promoting further modern research activities and cooperations of the Vietnamese scientists towards the industrialisation and modernisation of the country. The Symposium will be held on October 2-4, 2002 at Halong Bay, a wellknown rescource of Vietnam, which is about 160 km north-east of Hanoi and officially recognized by UNESCO as a nature world heritage. The conference site is the conference room of The Heritage Hotel - a 4-star and  faced-to-the-sea hotel of the beach city.

         Prior to the ISAMM ‘02, there will be organised as ISAMM’02 satellite conferences an “International Seminar on Rare Earths for Magnetic Materials - REMM" by the Institute of Materials Science (NCST) and an “International Seminar on the Celebration of 25 years of the Cryogenic Laboratory – CRYOLAB25 “ by the Cryogenic Laboratory of the College of Natural Science (VNU). Both events are held in Hanoi on September 30 and October 1, 2002.
